Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Texas
Texas Apartment lease issue
We placed a 30 day notice to our complex to move out. They came back and stated that the requirment is 60 days. I have yet to viewed the actual lease agreement. However, as per the standard TAA agreements, they only require 30 days. Is it unfair practices for the complex to request more than 30 days? They also said that we are obligated to pay water and trash for the time we will not be there as well.

Get a copy of your lease agreement from them and read it. It is binding if you signed it with a 60-day notice requirement. This is a prime example of why you should always read and question anything you sign.
