Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Texas

In Texas My landlord has been taking my rent monthly and I am now finding out he hasnt made his mortgage payments and told the mortgage company the house is vacant and they can have it back..What can I do?

I assume you have a written lease. If so, you have a contract that allows you to stay in the property until a certain date. If you perform your obligations under the lease and he does not, your landlord may be liable to you. In any event, if the bank or landlord want you out, they will have to evict you. You will have an opportunity to tell the judge that you have a lease and are making all payments. If the bank actually foreclosues, you will have additional time to vacate the property.
