Transferability of lease agreements

Here's a real basic question. Are lease agreements fully transferable to a new landlord/owner due to the sale of a property? In other words, being 2 months into a 1-year lease, should I be concerned about that ''for sale'' sign that just appeared in the front yard of the property where I live? (individual owner)

Don't worry about it. Your written lease gives you an absolute right to occupy that property as long as you abide its terms. No other person can take that away from you; they buy the property subject to your lease. They may kick you off at the end of your year though, so if you were counting on renewing, you might want to re-draft that lease to give you an option to renew BEFORE the new owner gets title.
