Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Texas

I turned 18 this past July and after a few years of living miserably with my dad & stepmom who controlled me to the point of not seeing my mom, have moved out. I have mended my relationship with her and am now living with my mother. This upset my father to the point where he will not allow me to retrieve my belongings from his home and he stole my car that was parked in front of my mother's house in the middle of the night. He insist that I cannot come get my things unless it is on HIS schedule...which due to my current job & not having a truck, makes it difficult. He will not work with me when it is convenient for me to come over. What are my legal rights to obtain my things? All I want is my clothes, my yearbooks and my drawings. I also have a school book that I need to get so that I can return it to my highschool so I can get my highschool diploma (which they insisted I take my SAT's during my HS graduation...so I missed walking across the stage with my graduating class). I am at a loss as to what to do & just want my belongings & to maybe mend my relationship with my dad in the future.

the quickest and cheapest way is to call local police, report theft of car..and ask for help to get your property..Next..go to local Justice of the Peace, file for attachment of your belongings/car..and hope u have title to car in your name...Third, hire lawyer..may cost a few bucks..but as to mending fence with a father who runs down mother..good luck..

The easy way is to work with your dad on HIS schedule. Your goal is to retrieve your items as cheaply and quickly as possible. He does love you.
