Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Texas
Unmaintained Private Road Deeded to County that Private Landowners Want Deeded B
Dirt Road was deeded to county in 1971 by private landowners at that time. The county never adopted it, named it or maintained it. It is not considered county but not considered the property of the private landowners. We would like to know if there is a law or code stating that if the county does not do the above within a certain period of time, does or can it go back to the landowners? The landowners down the dirt road ( there is a 60 foot easement and 30 foot of it is on the landowners surveys) want the dirt road to be owned privately. How can this be done?
Thank you,

Re: Unmaintained Private Road Deeded to County that Private Landowners Want Deed
I would start by talking to the county right-of-way agent and ask for the road back. Each county has their own set of rules so it is best to start there.
