Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Texas

utility easement

I have 3 lots with home in Texas. My title policy shows: 'An aerial easement 10 feet wide along the front property line from a plane 20 feet above the ground upward.' My understanding of that part reading '10 feet along front property line would be 5 feet on either side, not 10 feet on either side. Would this be correct? The local power company always wants to cut my tree limbs back for 3-5 years of growth, claiming they are allowed 10 feet inside of my property line, and I would like to find out who is correct. Thanks

Re: utility easement

Why would your title policy refer to five feet of the adjacent land? Ten feet means ten feet on your land. But an attorney would need to read your title and see the plan to give you a reliable opinion.
