Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Texas

Validity of notorized document.

If I have a ''Power of Attorney'' notorized in the UK, is it valid in the US? I am a US citizen. The Power of Arrorney is written specificly for the closing on the purchase of some land in the US.

Re: Validity of notorized document.

You need to get an apostille, i.e. someone from the Secretary of State's office saying that your foreign notarized document is valid here. You can go to the Secretary of State's website of whatever state you're in or just call them and they'll give you what you need. Cost varies upon state, in Texas I think it's somewhere around $50, that's a guess though. Good luck.
