Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Texas

My wife and I had an American Bulldog/Pit Bull that we gave to our mother in-law at the time of our first son's birth as a way to give the dog to a good home but protect our kid from a dangerous breed of dog. Since that time, the dog has bitten two individuals, broken another's arm and snapped at me. My wife and I have asked the mother-in-law to not bring the dog around our children but she continues to do so.

As a parent and a property owner, is there anything legally that I can to keep this animal off of the property without revoking the in-laws rights to visit?

You're the parent. You're in charge. Do your job.

It is a CRIME for you to allow your child to be in a situation that's dangerous; you could be arrested. It's 22.041 of the Texas Penal code.

Tell this fool woman (write her a paper letter, and keep a copy) that she won't be allowed on the premises if she brings this dog. Then stick to it.

Honestly, who brings a dog to visit relatives????
