Will, common law

a couple live together for 18yrs, he dies. The will leaves everything to children. Is the wife not entitled to the possessions aquired by both for 18yrs?

It has been a while since I reviewed this area, but Texas is a common law state and I believe that there can be a common law basis for getting a relationship recognized as a marriage. Not so much time but rather whether the couple represented to others that they were married/considered themselves married is the main factor. You should definitely consult with an attorney on this and soon because time almost always an important factor.
