Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Texas

I have an X of 6 years now we have both moved on he is married and I am Engaged..it is now time to take his name off of my land and house. He, in the last six years, has not paid for ANYTHING,NO TAXES,NO REPAIRS,NO UP-KEEP,nothing!! When i asked him to sign the quit claim deed,he asked me for 25,000.I have spent more than that on my house in the last 6 years. Is he not legally responsible for HALF of all cost on this house.

Your rights are determined by what's in your decree. What does it say about the house? Does it award it to you 100%?

If the decree awards the house to you ("all right, title, and interest"), you can record your decree (a certified copy) as a muniment of title. It will be expensive, since the County Clerk charges by the page.
