Legal Question in Sexual Harassment in Texas

With Consent

Can a high school teacher be prosecuted or rightfully terminated for having a sexual relationship with a seventeen-year-old consenting student? If yes, how long after the consenting student's graduation would such a relationship be ethical and above reprimand? (Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe the age of sexual consent in Texas is 17.)

I dont think that you can be prosecuted. However, if you have pictures of you having sex you can be prosecuted for pornography. While I doubt that the statue is legal given the age of consent, I would not risk it.

As to the school firing you, I would not blame them.
