I am 18 and would like to rescind the SSN my parents obtained for me when I was a minor. How do I do this?

Re: how to rescind my SSN

If you become employed and earn more than a small income, or if you acquire assets in excess of $2000, not counting a house or a car, your eligibility for SSI will be quickly terminated by the Social Security Administration. You could also just notify the Social Security Administration that you are not now disabled and that you wish to have your payments terminated, but I would advise you to wait until you have a job and you are pretty sure you will be able to keep it up over a period of time.

Re: how to rescind my SSN

Do you want to rescind your Social Security Number (SSN)? Why would you want to do that? Or do you mean Social Security Income (SSI)? If you are over 18 and are able to engage in substantial gainful activity, your SSI should be terminated.
