Legal Question in Tax Law in Texas

Family owned land

My family owns land in Oklahoma, it is an Indian alotment. It has passed through generations and at this point lies vacant. My grandfather is currently paying the estate taxes as the care taker. If I or my father were to take over payments how do I get the deed and where do I start?
