We were late paying our monthly contracted amount on our past due real estate taxes. They were due by the 15th, yesterday, and I paid them this morning(16th) at 8am. I was told that violating this contract would mean that they would add penalties, legal fees and start foreclosure on our home. Should I call the attorney to tell her I was late on my payment to see if I can avoid having them file for foreclosure or just sit tight and see if they notice?

They may add late fees but I doubt they will start foreclosure proceedings.
