Legal Question in Traffic Law in Texas
17 yrs - no d.l - arressted!
My 17 yr old daughter recieved a old '95 car for her birthday. 1 day after her 17th b-day she missed the school bus and decided to take the car to school. She was pulled over within 5-10 minutes after school, and was arrested. The Officer called me at work around 3:20 p.m. 15 minutes after school was out and informed me he stopped my daughter for speeding. her then asked if she had permission, and if i wanter to press charges on her. Of coarse i said no. the officer then informed me he was arresting her for no drivers license and no insurance. my daughter had her birth certificate and ss card in her purse and her school id w/ picture on her neck.i was told to pick up the car asap or he wold tow it from the neighborhood it was on. i then had to pat a bailbondsman for a $800.00 traffic bond. the ticket was for no turn signal. no insurance, and no id. the officer also was searching the vehicle without permission and after i informed him i was on my way to pick it up. he informed me he would wait. why would he search the vehicle. when my sister arrived he immediatley stopped the search. the ticket also marked her searched the vehicle, but nothing was checked regarding permission.

Have read your question twice.
Can certainly understand how this situation was expensive and frustrating, but cannot find your question, in the posting.
If it regards the search, and he found nothing in the search, there is nothing to complain about. Maybe the search was illegal, maybe not. But an illegal search is something to complain about when evidence is seized, and the seizure is illegal. There is no evidence here.
