Legal Question in Traffic Law in Texas
Arrest Warrant for deceased
I recently received a letter from a Texas city stating that they have a warrant for the arrest on a family member who has recently passed away. The warrant relates to her failure to appear for a traffic ticket.
My question is what is the status of the triffic ticket since she has passed away and what her estate should do about the outstanding warrant.
Thanks,

Re: Arrest Warrant for deceased
Send the clerk a copy of the death certificate and ask that the warrant be quashed. I doubt if they will take any further action. Practically speaking it is of no consequence, since they can no longer execute the warrant.
