Legal Question in Traffic Law in Texas

Deferred Judification

I recently got a ticket for ''Driving the wrong way in a designated lane.''

What really happened was, I merged early into the right hand turn lane (possibly crossed a double yellow line), in order to make the turn. The problem is, there is so much traffic that you HAVE to get into that turn lane early if you ever want to make that right hand turn.

Should I plead Deferred judification so I can get this off my record? It was only 2 pts, so will my insurance rates go up? Is that the same thing as entering a plea? Should I take the Safety Driving Course to get it off my record? I need some advice.

Thanks

Re: Deferred Judification

Either approach, deferred adjudication, or the driver's safety course, will keep a conviction off of your record. Review the requirements of each, and make sure that you complete the entire process. Good luck.
