Legal Question in Traffic Law in Texas
Expired Inspection Sticker
I was pulled over this morning for an expired inspection sticker - was not given a citation or a ticket for it just warned that I need to get it taken care of or I could go to jail for it. Is that true?? I have never heard of anyone going to jail for an expired inspection before and want to be sure I know what my rights are about this. Thank You in advance for your help with this.

Re: Expired Inspection Sticker
Yes, you can be taken to jail in Texas for a traffic offense including having an expired inspection sticker.
Having an expired inspection sticker is a Class "c" Misdemeanor with a fine up to $500.
You would have the option of posting bond, paying a fine or requesting trial once magistrated after being taken to jail.
