Legal Question in Traffic Law in Texas
failure to appear on traffic ticket
i appeared on the date to appear to talk to the judge about the ticket, not knowing the judge for the city had passed that week, the clerk didnt know what to do and i never heard back, till almost a year later, now their citing me for failure to not appear and have doubled the fines, whats the law on this issue, its not my fault they didnt have a judge on the day i appeared after driving 60 miles

Either hire a lawyer, or go back to the town and talk with the prosecutor and/or the judge and explain, with documentation, what happened.
