a little finder bender

My wife was at a red light and thought it change started to go and bumbed the person in front of her . their was no police called . The person she hit said he didn't see no damage . They exchanged phone numbers just incase their was damage . Few day's later he calls and of coarse he said their was damage to bumper so we told him to get some qoutes . We agreed to pay the lowest qoute of 327 . We went to our bank and had a cashier check made out to the body shop . We also had a letter wrote up stating he releases all responceablity of anything further and that we paid for damages and had it noterized . Now his father is calling saying we need to make it out to him not body shop . Now their harrasing us . Are we reaspobable for anything further since we paid to have car fixed and that he signed off on it .
