Legal Question in Traffic Law in Texas

hit pedestrian in school zone

I was stopped at a crosswalk; the light turned green so i went then heard a scream. I looked over and saw 2 girls running back to the curb and one putting her arm around the other. 2 other guys got out of their cars and went over as did I. I had hit a young girl (15?). I asked if she was ok and if she wanted to call her parents or go to the hospital and I would take her. She said no, and assured me many times she was ok although she had scrapes on each of her legs but wasn't bleeding or crying. My car was in the mid of the rd so I asked once more if she was ok and then I left. The cops show up at my work the next day and say that they are charging me with a felony and she had gone to the hospital after I left the scene. The girl was only 12. What can they charge me with and what are the possible punishments? My license is also suspended and I had no insurance.

Get a lawyer today, if you don't already have one. The situation went from serious to grave with the suspended license. You are in very serious trouble. Get a lawyer.
