Legal Question in Traffic Law in Texas
Hit and Run Texas
My sister was involved in a hit and run. She contacted her insurance company because when she went back to the scene the next day the car was gone. She told the company where the accident took place and they said they would contact the police. The police sent her a postcard to talk to them about the hit and run. Does she need to get a lawyer before talking to the police? What is going to happen to her?

Re: Hit and Run Texas
I am not sure what you mean, was she the hit or the run?
If the latter, then she will have to eventually talk to the police, but she needs a lawyer first. In fact, she shouldn't be discussing this with anyone except a lawyer.
The level of criminal charges are tied to the amount of damage or injury incurred.
