Legal Question in Traffic Law in Texas
''Illegal Turn'' in a school zone?
Hello,
This morning I received a citation for an ''Illegal Turn'' in a school zone. According to the officer, it was illegal for me to make a right-hand turn on to this specific street while in an active school zone (By active, I mean the school zone sign was flashing). He states that it is clearly marked. (Which I have not verified.) I have looked through the Texas Transportation Code and can find nothing specific about illegal turns in school zones. Additionally, I when I look at the documentation on TX signs in school zones, there is no mention of not being able to not make specific turns when in these zones. Is this worth contesting and do I have any legal grounds to contest this on?
Thanks!

If the sign is valid, then the ticket is probably valid.
Check the Code, as well as your municipal ordinances regardng placement and description of 'no turn' signs.
