Legal Question in Traffic Law in Texas
Missed court dates possible warrants.
About a month ago I got pulled over for expired registration and no insurance. During the next few weeks after I recieved my tickets I renewed the registration and insurance on my car. So now my car is legal but, I have missed the court date, and have possible warrants. Was wondering If I should just go to the court house and accept the waiting judgement or get a lawyer and hopefully lessen the blow. One more question how credible is tixnix.com????

Re: Missed court dates possible warrants.
Call the court -- give them your name and they will advise if there are warrants out -- sometimes the courts are slow and they will not have issued warrants and there may not be a FTA charge out there. If there is no warrant -- go into the court and take care of the tickets. Check with your insurance to verify that they do not consider these moving violations. If that is the case, then pay the fine - it's the easiest way to do it. If they ARE moving violations according to your policy, then ask for deferred disposition.
If there ARE warrants, hire a lawyer -- you will have to pay the lawyer, and post cash bonds, BUT the fines will be taken from the bonds posted.
