Legal Question in Traffic Law in Texas

Municipal Court

I was in an accident and received a failure to yield ticket and inproper insurance form, though I was covered. The police officer said to wait at least 10 days to respond at the Municipal Court. After 10 days I mailed in the ticket and checked I would take a defensive driving course, which I did online. Then I forgot about it until I got a letter from DPS 2 months later. I of course figured out I hadn't received my certificate of proof of taking the defensive driving. I called and have now received it. I am now going down to municipal court to show proof of insurance and the defensive driving certificate. Do you think it is too late? Will the judge be willing to wipe these off my record or will I have to pay fines, if so, will I be able to make payments?

Re: Municipal Court

It will be at the discretion of the judge.

Almost all courts allow a payment plan.

Your email does not indicate the time lapses involved here, but you may still be able to appeal the case.
