Legal Question in Traffic Law in Texas

Can a parent be personnally sued for traffic violations of his children who are over age and living at home? If the court seeks damages over the amoount covered by insurance, can they go to the parent personally for more, even though the child is cdonsidered an "adult"?

If a child 19 or older is living at home and has no insurance to drive a car owned by the parents, are the parents liable?

Your question focuses on the parent-child relationship and the fact that the child is an adult; and that the adult child lives at home.

None of those issues affect the outcome, which is that owner of the car has responsibility, and apparently has insurance that excluded the child, and the owner allowed it to be driven by an uninsured person.
