posession of drug paraphanelia

A couple of days ago, i recieved a citation for paraphanelia. the cop searched my freinds car and found a pipe and a fingernail amount of pot in the car and i was the passenger. i have a clean record and i am scared to death. im lucky cus the cop said the citation is equivalent to a traffic ticket yet on my ticket there is a description that we had been smoking weed that night cus we had been. what i really want to know is when i go into court what is the best thing to plead so i will be able to get this charge of my record. i cannont get a court appointed attourney and getting legal advice is like immpossible. it was a dumb mistake but this will effect me getting into school and finacial aid and everything . i just dont know what to do.

You are right -- it will affect school and financial aid. If your court date is very close, go to court, and ask for the case to be reset in order to find a lawyer. You need a lawyer to handle this for you, so that you will be in a position to later get it dismissed, and then hopefully sealed. Find one you can afford.
