Legal Question in Traffic Law in Texas
Using a public defender
My son will appear in court 8/1 for driving without a license. How much time does he need to contact a public defender/outside attorney before appearing in court? Can he contact an attorney by telephone (he will be out of town)?

When does the ticket say he needs to be in court?
What county? Was that the only violation? How old is your son? Does he have a license? Does he have any prior tickets? If so, what where they? When did he get them? What happened with them? Where is your son now?
It's best if he contacts an attorney on Monday but try to do so by wed morning at the latest and should be no problem by phone.
