Legal Question in Traffic Law in Texas
I recently moved to TX from FL I am a full time student (school has multiple locations, currently at TX location) my vehicles plates are still FL, and my ID still shows my "permanent mailing address" in FL. I have auto insurance that complies with TX law (insurance policy shows that its TX) will this be an issue when getting pulled over? If I do get pulled over in TX should I limit my words? I dont HAVE to answer all of his/her questions, correct? Can I refuse when he/she asks where I live, work, etc? Will having insurance in TX but everything else in FL be an issue even though I'm a full time student? Thanks.

If you still maintain a home in FL, then you can keep that address. This occurs with students often - they continue to use their parents' address. If you do not have an address in FL, then you cannot keep that address on your ID and you must change your plates.
If you lie to a cop, you are putting yourself in a tough position of being caught and creating more problems. I don't understand the need.
They have the right to ask where you live if you have out-of-state tags and i.d., and why you don't have Texas tags and i.d. They can make an assumption that will not be in your favor (and could result in your arrest) if you play a game of refusing to answer.
