Legal Question in Traffic Law in Texas
I am new resident of Texas and was traveling down highway 16 when I was pulled over going 75 around 9:00 pm and the nighttime speed limit is 65. I didn't even know that I was speeding until the officer pulled me over. I thought after the seeing a clean driving record, the officer would just issue me a warning. I was wrong and received a citation instead. I haven't had a traffic violation for 9 or 10 years, so I really don't know my options here. Is there a way to have the citation down-graded to a warning?

You have two options. You can tell the judge you want to take a defensive driving course. After you complete the course, your ticket will be dismissed.
You can hire an attorney have get "deferred disposition" If you are not convicted of the same offense within the deferral period, the ticket will be dismissed.
Good Luck.
