A cop gave me ticket for going 29 in a 20 mph school zone on day when there wasn't any school that day because of in service day.

Very interesting. One of the few traffic questions that may lead to a dismissal.
First fully document the school calendar. You may even try to get an affidavit from a school administrator or principal that no students were present on that day.
Take your evidence to the prosecutor, ask that the ticket be dismissed. If he/she refuses, ask for a court date. You will then need to subpoena a witness to testify to the fact that no students were present on that day.
You will also need to determine the statute or city ordinance in effect at the time of the ticket. Verify that the language of the law supports your position.
