Legal Question in Traffic Law in Texas

Last Sept. I recieved a ticket for running a red light. It was on a busy intersection with regular traffic lights. It is on my school bus route. That particular morning Sept 27,2013. I had a bus full of chilren grades Pk -12 . I assign sit my little ones up front so I can keep a ear and one eye on them. The regular traffic light on that intersection turned a 4 way stop with a blinking red light. There was some bullying going on. I failed to realize that it was changed into a 4way. Needless to say I was pulled over by a Travis County precint1 sherif's constable. I had gone to to speak a oris with a proscuter. I decided to fight it by reqesting a trial by jury. They couldnt give me a trial date that day. I was instructed to call bi weekly to find out. Which I did month after month went by. In May 2014 I called and the gentleman on the phone said it wouldnt be til late July but before August. I called again 2 week if June. Still no date..on July 3rd I called. I was told my date was July 2nd @9am. A warnt for familar to appear and my ticket was out. I would need surety cash $500 bond. I am a school bus driver with no summer income. I drive as a last minute fill in for some charter companys but Im luck if I can scrounge it for my 1/2 of rent and utilities. I am behind on July's as it is. My commercial dricer's license is my livelyhood. My route is about to start snoon abs I would like to resolve this without having to go to jail. Or know I would for sure do a walk through. I still would like to fight that ticket but if can get this FTA warrant lifted. Now that I will be working (hopefully). I will be able to make payments. I would like what would be a solution out of this,

Keith Engelke Law Office of S. Keith Engelke

Hire an attorney who practices in municipal court. He or she can get the warrant lifted.

You also need to speak with the attorney about your chances in winning and if there are other options to keep your CDL.

Good luck!
