Legal Question in Traffic Law in Texas

Show of Cause Hearing

I have a show of cause hearing in Dallas because I forgot to sign my certificate of comp. for my dr. safety course. Someone told me I could go directly to the court and sign the cert. and the case will be dismissed. Can I do this? I called the court before and they would not let me come to sign it before they turned it over to the actual court for a court date. Can they deny me the right to come and sign it before the actual hearing to dismiss this case?

Re: Show of Cause Hearing

You don't have the right to determine the court's policy. You forgot to obey a valid court order, and the court has the right to demand your appearance to show cause why you disobeyed the order.

This is a case of 'you get more flies with honey than vinegar'. A contrite and respectful appearance before the court will probably make this all go away, once you appear.
