Legal Question in Traffic Law in Texas
Speeding Ticket by Paced
I was given a speeding ticket in Dallas county (Tx) by being paced. He said I was going 85/60. I am certain I was going 80 though and pacing is not always accurate to the exact mph. In Tx, if you are written going 25 mph or more over the limit, you can't take defensive driving. Is it possible to make a deal with the county prosecutor or judge that I won't contest the ticket if they knock down my speed and allow me to take defensive driving?

Some prosecutors will negotiate this with you. If you are not successful, ask for another court date, and hire a lawyer.
