Legal Question in Traffic Law in Texas

Speeding Ticket

What do you do if a police officer gives out a speeding ticket wrongfully? I drive a tour bus, and the GVW us 52,000 pounds. I was in Dallas with real estate brokers and showing properties. I was at a stop light, dead stop. Traffic went through, the light turned green, I proceed to turn. Not a block away, the officer stepped in front of the bus in the middle lane and told me to pull over. The officer gave me a ticket stating I was going 30MPH in a school zone. There is no way I could have been doing 30. If I was doing 30MPH, I would have hit the officer, my passengers would have been hurt/thrown. My bus also has a system, the engine break engages at 15-18MPH. When I took my foot off the throttle, the engine break did not engage. This means the speed of the bus was under 20MPH. The time in question is also questionable. School zone time 2:45pm. Time on ticket 3:00 pm. The brokers needed to be dropped off at the hotel by 5:00pm. There were seven more properties to be shown. After leaving the officer, I headed to Oak Cliff, through different intestates then into Fort Worth and got them to their hotel between 4:45 and 4:50pm. There is no way I was doing 30MPH. Please advise.

Re: Speeding Ticket

Then you have to take the case to trial. You present your evidence and testimony, as will the prosecutor. The judge or jury will then make a determination.
