Legal Question in Traffic Law in Texas
Speeding 55 in a 55!
I got ticketed for going 45 in a 55
zone. However I was pulled over in a
55 zone. When you hit the 55 speed
sign there is a decline and the
policeman was at the bottom of the
hill. He turned around and followed
me for 1/2 a mile before pulling me
over in the 2300 block, but on the
ticket he wrote that he got he on
radar in the 3200 block. The 3200
block is 1/4 mile back from the 55
mph sign. There is no possible way
that he could have seen me that far
back since he was at the bottom of
the hill in the 55 mph zone. Even if
it were possible, how can a policeman
follow me 3/4 of a mile before pulling
me over and pull me over in a 55
mph zone and then give me a ticket
for going 45 in a 55? Why wouldn't
he pull me over in the 45 mph zone
if that's truly where he caught me?
This makes no sense to me!

You certainly have a right to take this to trial before a judge or jury. Much will turn on the credibility of the testimony. Radar and video (if any) will also constitute evidence.
