Legal Question in Traffic Law in Texas
Statue of Limitations
10 years ago, I lived in Austin, Tx. In the years before I left Texas I received 3 traffic violations. Is there a statue of limitations on these or can I still be arrested for them. I live in another state for the last 10 years. Should I do anything? or just not worry about it anymore.

Re: Statue of Limitations
The Statute of Limitations on a failure to appear or warrant does not run while the defendant is out of the state. This MIGHT catch up with you when you attempt to renew a drivers license, as the states become more computer literate, and more cooperative. It may never catch up with you. You can always find out the status, and get a lawyer to negotiate a settlement of the charges if they are still outstanding.
