Legal Question in Traffic Law in Texas
Ticket with no court date
I recieved a ticket the other day in which the officer said I was following to close to the vehicle in front of me. I dispute that. I had the same spacing as any other car on the road, but evidently the vehicle in front of me saw the officer entering the highway from the access road and slowed down.
I started slowing down wodering what he was doing. Then I looked in my mirror and saw the officer. At the same time I looked back the vehicle in front of me decided to slow down more so I ended up getting close to him and evidently this is what the officer was ticketing me for... following too close.
I got a couple of other things too that I can discharge, but is there any way to fight this one. Also, the ticket has no court date on it for when to appear. What are my options? Is there any way to get it dismissed?

Re: Ticket with no court date
Tim,
You can always fight a traffic ticket. You need to call my office and set up an appointment so we can talk about the ticket. I do not charge anything for you to come in and meet with me. However, do not wait too long, because your court date could be fairly soon depending on the jurisdiction(court)that your ticket is pending.
