Legal Question in Traffic Law in Texas
Ticket error
I was involved in a traffic accident and I received a ticket in the mail. I called the officer whose name appears on the ticket and he is no the officer who was at the scene of the accident. Thus he did not fill out the accident report. My question is if I go to court and the wrong officer is notified to show up and does not, will the case be dismissed.

Re: Ticket error
Maybe.
Different cities and municipal courts operate differently.
Some courts give each side one 'free pass' -- an automatic continuance to straighten out their problems. Other courts call the officer, wait 30 minutes and dismiss if the officer is not available. Other courts have different policies and procedures.
