Legal Question in Traffic Law in Texas
traffic violation warrants
I received a speeding ticket 1 year ago and mailed in a check to pay the full amount which was the court claims was never received. Additional fees were added to the amount after i did not show up at the court date and again when a warrant was issued. I first became aware of this after i was called 1 year later. I was never notified of the warrant or anything else. I have no problem paying the original amount but is there anything i can do to reduce the amount in any way?

Re: traffic violation warrants
If you have proof of the payment, and that it was cashed, and attorney can get this quashed. If not, then you are probably stuck paying the entire amount. A lawyer could negotiate the amount, but after you pay the lawyer, it probably isn't worth it.
