Legal Question in Traffic Law in Texas
Would it be unlawful to be in the roadway (residential 2-way street) when a police officer insisted that you stand in front of the squad car while they ran your name, etc. I was in my own house and they cme to my door and asked me to come outside, so I stepped onto porch, then he asked me to come stand in front of police car. Once they found I had no warrants or other problems with the law, I was cited for pedestrian in roadway where sidewalks were provided.
Couldn't I have been arrested for failing to obey a lawful order if I had done anything other than protest?
