Legal Question in Traffic Law in Texas
vehicle insurance
i was driving another person,s car
and they gave me their insurance
card and said the car was covered. i
was pulled over and they said the
insurance was not valid. i am now
paying the fee for failure to maintain
financial responsibility for a vehicle.i
did not own the car and was given a
non-valid card. why am i responsible
for this fee?

Because Texas law holds the driver of the vehicle responsible for insurance, current registration and current inspection of the car being driven. Considering the long term cost in insurance premiums and driver's license surcharges, it is probably worth your while to talk with a lawyer.
