Legal Question in Traffic Law in Texas
warning lights
Can someone tell me the law regarding the use of red/blue police lights. I obtained a set and was in a parking lot with others, I turned them on and a Sheriffs deputy pulled up, I was given a ticket for ''display of warning lights'' and he had me remove the lights and give them to him, which he put in the back seat of his unit. Can he legally take my lights?

Re: warning lights
There are several provisions regarding this restriction in the Texas Transportation Code Chapter 547. Yes he can take your lights, and you can file a motion with the court to retrieve them, but will have to prove that they are legally designed for a legal purpose.
