Legal Question in Traffic Law in Texas

warrants for speeding tickets

I currently live in Ohio and received notice of warrants issued in Texas for various traffic offenses. I have no job or means of paying the fines.

Would I owe further fines after I sat out my time in the state of Texas?

Charges include:

1)speeding 15 65mph

2)no insurance

3)no operator's licence

4)no registration

5)driving with suspended licence

Also, when I turn myself in, how much time should I expect to serve?

Re: warrants for speeding tickets

My first concern is which county or city in Texas you were in when you received the tickets. The tickets could be in municipal court, justice court, or by a camera. Every locale operates differently in this state.

If you do not want to hire an attorney to handle the tickets for you, I suggest you start by contacting the agency that issued the ticket. Sometimes you are able to resolve the tickets over the phone. Ask if you may talk to the prosecutor to negotiate a deal. Also, ask about a payment plan. Some jurisdictions offer this to defendants, others do not.

This is at least a start in resolving your situation.
