Legal Question in Traffic Law in Texas
wife was stopped in left turn lane with car stalled in front of her. Light was red. Stalled car man motioned for her to go around. She did--passed on left. No cars coming, were stopped at red light. State trooper saw it and gave her ticket. Did she break the law?

The problem of course, is that she didn't wait for the light to turn green before passing him. Although she may have broken the law in the passing, the law allows an affirmative defense as to the conditions of the road, necessitating certain action, by a reasonable person. The sticking point will be the red light.
