Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Texas
In 1971 my husband and I bought 5 acres of land. The land was put in his name. We sold the land a few years later and we kept part of the mineral rights. We divorced in 1994. He died in 1999. We have two children that are grown. A company is now going to drill for oil and gas on this land. Do I have a right to part of these minerals rights since we married at the time it was purchased and I helped pay for it?

It would depend on the wording of your divorce decree. If the decree gave you an interest in the minerals, then yes. If not, then it is unlikely (but possible.) Either way, you'll need to do some clean up work on the title.
