affidavit of heirship

My friends father passed away 14 years

ago and left 5,000 dollars in the bank

without no will and no beneficiary what

does she need to get those funds

released.

See if the bank will accept an affidavit of heirship. If not, she will need to open up an heirship proceeding and get a court order. Total cost for the proceeding should be around $2,000 for court costs and attorney fees.
