Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Texas

I am a beneficiary to an estate in which I was left oil royalty. The will was holographic and left no instruction about who would the royalties transfer to should I pass. It it true that it could pass back to the original estate instead of passing down to my family?

It depends on the what was given to you and how it was conveyed.

Normally once something is devised in a will, the property does not go back to the estate.

However, it is possible to do something like what you have described. It is best that you show the will to an attorney to review.
