Beneficiary rights?

My mother passed away almost two months ago.I have not received any notification, the lawyer has my address.I am a beneficiary of a trust.What duties does the lawyer have to notify me.Please cite codes and/or statutes in regards to this. Also,I would like to gather my personal belongings at my parents' home. Thanks.

There shouldn't be any problem in getting your personal belongings from your parents' home. Is your father still alive? Who is supposed to enter your mother's estate in probate? If probate has not been started the lawyer wouldn't have any reason to contact you. Have you contacted the lawyer about probate?

What is the basis of the trust? Who is the trustee? How is or was the trust formed?
