Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Texas
If my brother gets my fathers power of attorney can my father still buy a house in his own name by himself, or will he have to have my brother's permission. What are the different types of powers of attorney?

A power of attorney just allows the power holder to sign the power grantor's name to legal documents. If the power grantor is competent, then the power holder can still sigh his own documents, including documents sufficient to buy a house.
There are two types of powers of attorney, one that takes effect immediately, and one that takes effect only if a person is later found to be incompetent.
